Still not losing like I had expected. Working out everyday.
At this month's support group meeting, I learned that you can expect plateaus like I am experiencing. I should not let the scales dictate my feelings about my progress. Clothes are getting loser on me all the time. Feel like I am toning up some muscles.
I learned this week, that often the next sudden drop of weight begins happening around the 3 month post operation. And if you are on a regular exercise program, the weight loss is that much more dramatic.
I also learned that during the first year, the weight loss is 70% surgery and 30% me. The second year it is 30% surgery and 70% me. And the third year is 100% me. So it is important to face and deal with the demons that got me the point where I do not want to return. Unthinking grazing and overeating. My biggest sin was to eat when I was not hungry and often. For instance, I used to stop in a gas station if I wanted something to eat, buy then wolf down two Honey Buns (and usually more). I just bought one for Gloria while travelling, and she told me when she read that it was 400 calories for each honey bun according to the label. Wow, no wonder I was putting it on. I am going to try to get in the habit of journalling my eating too. Don't need to eat a lot of smaller meals. Going to stick with breakfast, lunch and supper. Going to try to eat about the same time also. Suggestions from the Support Group.
My biggest fear is that during that third year, I will fall back into bad habits and gain all the weight back. Planning on getting rid of most of my fat clothes here in the near future, so I don't have anything to fall back on. Met a man at the support group, who is going through the struggle of falling back into old bad habits. My challenge is to replace them with good new habits.

Stayed the same
Well, this was the first week in a long time that I didn't lose weight. Still not eating much, so I don't think that is it. I have exercised more this past week than I have for quite a while, and that could be part of it. Muscle weighs more than fat. Don't know, we will see. Won't be concerned unless I don't lose for a while.
My next appointment is the week after fair, so that will be interesting. Two different groups on two different days in a row up at Cleveland Clinic. Oh well, things like this happen don't they.
We will see how I do this week.
Need to go work out again. Slipped at the end of last week, but still committed.

8 weeks, 2 months out from surgery
Went to the doctor this past Thursday. Lost over 60 pounds altogether, 40 pounds since surgery. That is about half-way to my goal. I weighed in at 255.5 # at the doctors and TOPS.
More people who don't know about the surgery are noticing the weight loss.
Have started to work out on a regular basis at the YMCA, with 2 days in weight room, 2 days in pool, and 3 focused on cardio workout.
Things are going good as far as eating, and digestion.
Will post a picture at 3 months out, when I should be about 70 pounds lost and 50 since surgery. That should be 2/3 to the goal.
My brother is recovering well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
